Val-Carrie

by | Aug 8, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The ‘Val-Carrie’ mango is a unique cultivar believed to be a natural cross between the ‘Valencia Pride’ and ‘Carrie’ mango varieties. It was selected as a random seedling by the Zill family in Boynton Beach, Florida. This mango is prized for its bold, spicy-sweet flavor, combining the notes of its parent varieties. It has a firm, juicy, and fiberless flesh with a strong aroma. An interesting fact about the ‘Val-Carrie’ is its vigorous growth habit, making it a fast-growing tree that can reach considerable size if not pruned, yet it can also be managed to a smaller size for home gardens.
