by | Aug 10, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The Totapuri mango, also known as Ginimoothi, Bangalora, or Sandersha, is a prominent cultivar widely grown in South India, particularly in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, and also cultivated in Sri Lanka. An interesting fact about the Totapuri mango is its distinctive shape, which resembles a parrot’s beak. This unique characteristic is reflected in its name, as “Tota” means parrot in some Indian languages.
