Sindhu

by | Aug 9, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The ‘Sindhu’ mango is a unique and highly sought-after variety that originated in India. It is a hybrid cross between the ‘Ratna’ and ‘Alphonso’ mango varieties, developed by the Konkan Krishi Vidyapith, Dapoli, in 1992. This mango is predominantly cultivated in western India and is known for its rich, sweet, and distinctive flavor, often described as having an Indian-Alphonso taste. An interesting fact about the Sindhu mango is that it is often marketed as a ‘seedless’ mango, although it does contain a very small, thin, and often unnoticeable seed, making it incredibly convenient for consumption.
