by | Aug 6, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The ‘Sammar Bahisht’ mango, also known as Bahist-e-Samar (“Mango of Paradise”), is primarily associated with the Chausa mango, which originated in India and is widely grown in Pakistan, particularly in Multan and Rahim Yar Khan districts of Southern Punjab. Sammar Bahisht Chaunsa is a leading mango variety, rightly called a legend among mangoes. It is known for its exceptionally sweet and aromatic flavor, soft flesh, and less fiber. The fruit is medium-sized with a slightly flattened base, equal shoulders, greenish-yellow skin, and yellow pulp. An interesting fact about the ‘Sammar Bahisht’ mango is that its name translates to “Mango of Paradise,” reflecting its highly prized flavor and aroma, making it a truly exceptional variety.
