Rosigold

by | Aug 6, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The Rosigold mango is a Florida cultivar, selected by the United States Department of Agriculture in Miami, FL. It is believed to have Southeast Asian heritage, possibly originating as a seedling of a Saigon-type mango. It is highly prized for its early ripening season, often being one of the first mangoes available in South Florida, typically in March or April. It is known for its sweet, mild flavor and is considered a truly fiberless mango, meaning the pulp does not stick to the seed. This variety is also noted for its beauty and disease tolerance. An interesting fact about the Rosigold mango is that it is considered a freestone mango, meaning its flesh does not cling to the seed, making it very easy to eat and prepare.
