Rapoza

by | Aug 6, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The ‘Rapoza’ mango is a high-quality cultivar that originated in Hawaii. It was selected from an open-pollination population of ‘Irwin’ seedlings at the Poamoho Experiment Farm in 1985 by Richard Hamilton of the University of Hawaii. This mango is highly prized for its intense tropical flavor, low fiber content, and excellent disease resistance. An interesting fact about the ‘Rapoza’ mango is its adaptability; it is commercially produced on a small scale in South Florida, demonstrating its ability to thrive in humid conditions despite its Hawaiian origin.
