Neelum

by | Aug 5, 2025 | Mango Cultivars

The Neelum mango, sometimes spelled Neelam, originates from South India where it is widely cultivated on a large commercial scale. It is a small, oval-ovate fruit with fiberless, pale yellow flesh. Known for its distinct Indian flavor, the Neelum is a late-season mango, typically maturing from August to September, and sometimes even into October. An interesting fact about the Neelum mango is that it was introduced to Florida in 1978 by Frank Smathers Jr., marking its expansion beyond its native South India.
