Mangopedia Personal Experience

A Lemon Zest mango tasted by Mangopedia had a very sour note and measured 13 Brix, which is below the roughly 15 Brix average Mangopedia generally uses as a baseline for mango sweetness.

The flesh was decent for those who enjoy a more tart mango, but it did not have much flesh compared with some other mangoes and was not buttery-smooth in the way certain premium varieties can be.

This particular sample may have been picked a little too soon. Although it had yellow coloring, it had not turned completely yellow and still showed some green. The fruit had already started to give and become a little soft, which may have contributed to the lower 13 Brix reading and the stronger sour character.
