Bermuda Red

Bermuda Red is a Florida-found mango named for the beautiful bright red color the fruit can produce. When the mango colors up heavily on the tree, its skin can become so vivid that it may resemble a red cardinal sitting among the leaves.

The fruit is described as having a classic mango flavor with a very smooth, fiberless texture. Bermuda Red is a very sweet mango, commonly measuring around 22 to 24 Brix on average, with some small fruit reportedly measuring as high as 30.6 Brix. The mango can be excellent when picked ripe from the tree, though it may have a slight chalkiness in the flavor. The skin is edible, and tasters have generally enjoyed the fruit, with some even describing it as almost too sweet.

The tree appears to be compact and not overly vigorous, making it a promising choice for small yards where space is limited.
